TIDWORTH hosted the largest gathering of Army bands to be seen outside of London this year when a spectacular concert took place at the town’s Tattoo Ground in Tedworth Park on Saturday.
Over the past few years many of the units in Tidworth, Bulford and Netheravon Garrisons have been heavily committed to operations in Afghanistan and although exercises and training commitments continue, all the units are now finally home.
Army personnel, their families and the local community enjoyed a Picnic in the Park-style concert in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Corps of Army Music and the welcome return from operations.
The line up included Pipes and Drums, Bugles and Tidworth’s newly arrived Band of the Royal Artillery. The First World War was the theme throughout. There were also appearances by local Military Wives Choirs and the Adjutant General’s Corps Rock and Pop Band. The concert culminated with a fireworks display.
