A LARKHILL mother is hosting a mini Christmas fete event for the Stars Appeal on Saturday, November 1 at Sharpe Hall, Larkhill, from 10am to 4pm.

Kelly Hughes decided to host the event after her son was born seven weeks prematurely in 2012 and she saw first-hand the work that is done at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

She has got together with a number of different businesses who will all have tables at the event and is hoping to raise £1,000 for the hospital’s Stars Appeal, which has funded lots of projects in NICU. The day will include crafts, beauty treatments, bespoke gifts, handmade goods, personalised word art and face painting.

She said: “Although my little boy is now healthy I we spent a lot of time in NICU and saw the amount of money that it takes for it to keep running.

“My event is being run with the support of local businesses and there will be a mini Christmas fete for people to enjoy.

“I hope to raise £1,000 from the day which is a realistic target and it is free for anybody to come along to.”
