HAMPSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service has been awarded £4million of central government cash to improve services.
HFRS has been awarded funding from the government’s £75 million Fire Transformation Fund for two projects following a successful bid.
The service said the money will be used to help improve frontline services and strengthen its partnerships with other emergency services.
Deputy chief fire officer Dave Curry said: “We are delighted to have secured this key government funding and it will enable us to continue our collaborative work with Hampshire Police and other emergency services to do our work more efficiently and effectively.”
A spokesman from HFRS said £2.6 million will be used to provide a new joint fire and police service headquarters.
A further £1.39m will be used to transform HFRS on-call services.
