A WINTER ball is being held in November to raise money for a little boy with a terminal wasting disease to swim with dolphins.

Jon Tarrant-Heckford has Sanfilippo syndrome, which prevents the body removing waste and chemicals from the brain and nervous system.

The condition means he may not live beyond ten years old.

Wishes 4 Jon was set up to raise money to give Jon and his family some magical memories during their time together. But now Jon’s mother Lorraine thinks it will be their last fundraising bash.

She said: “Jon’s health is deteriorating. He has had a recent seizure and this has left him unable to speak.

“We know that Jon is not a very well little boy and we have been told what will happen, but when it does start to happen it just feels like your heart is being ripped out. Jon creates so much love, happiness and joy and I just can’t imagine a future without him in it.”

To date the family have been to Lapland and Disneyland in Paris and now they are hoping the winter ball will raise enough funds to send them somewhere warm to swim with dolphins.

Lorraine said: “I just want to be able to create a lasting memory that we will always have.

“The ball will be the perfect opportunity to have a wonderful party and to celebrate life.”

The winter ball is being held at Tyrells Ford Hotel, Avon on November 15.

Tickets are available at £35, to include three courses and live music, from Lorraine Tarrant Antiques on 01425 461123 or the Fox in the Forest on 07881 880273.
