A SALISBURY personal trainer set himself an exercising challenge for charity in memory of local man Jack Croft who battled with alcohol problems.

Alan Levi, who works at The Body Lounge, completed 200 chin ups in 24 hours to mark the seventh anniversary of Jack’s death this week.

Fitting in time between his working to complete the challenge.

“I wanted to mark the day in a positive manner, by raising awareness of the dangers of this socially accepted drug,” said the 44-year-old.

“I chose chin ups because they are a particularly challenging exercise and because, as a firm believer in positive thinking, whatever life throws at us, we must always keep our chin up.”

Alan was also encouraging supporters to make a donation to charity Alcohol Concern, who run the Dry January campaign. He believes around £500 has been raised.

He added: “I want to sincerely thank everyone that contributed and supported me in this endeavor.”
