A LORRY that became wedged under the railway bridge at the western end of Fisherton Street, Salisbury, has now been cleared.
Police were called at 10am today and are now on the scene directing traffic as one lane remains open.
They are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.
Network Rail will inspect the bridge for structural damage.
The white and blue Volvo articulated lorry has now ben recovered.
Its trailer compartment was forced backwards upon impact, but remained on the lorry.
