A YARD man and feed manager at Seamus Mullins’ stables in Amesbury has scooped runner-up in a national award which recognises hard work and dedication.

Kevin Eggleton, 43, pictured, made the life-changing decision two years ago to move from his office job to pursue his dream job of working with horses.

Now he has finished as runner-up in the David Nicholson Newcomer Award, which recognises skill among the 6,500 members of stable staff who care for the 14,000 racehorses in the UK.

Seamus Mullins said: “Reggie demonstrates to all what can be achieved by dedication, hard work, commitment and attention to detail.

“His commitment, loyalty, enthusiasm and professionalism have proved an undoubted asset to my yard. He is an example to all his colleagues.”
