WILTSHIRE’S recycling centres will close for two days a week from June, saving £300,000.
The closure days will be staggered to ensure that there will always be one recycling centre open in Wiltshire’s four regions, north, south, east and west, each day of the week.
Councillor in charge of waste Jerry Wickham said difficult choices had to be made and detailed studies had been done to minimise the effect on the public.
Tip opening hours will also be cut with centres open from 10am to 4pm all year round, as opposed to the current 9am to 4pm winter and 9am to 5pm summer opening hours.
Hills Waste Solutions is consulting 31 employees who could be affected.
