A SECRETARY is leaving her role at a Salisbury golf club to fulfil an alternative career path.

Bridgitte Wyre, an administrator and secretary at Salisbury and South Wilts Golf Club, is making the switch to become a full-time dog trainer at privately run QED Dog Agility.

After spending more than a decade at the club on Netherhampton Road, Bridgitte is pursuing her passion for dog agility training on a permanent basis.

Club secretary Alex Taylor said: "Over the past years, the club has supported her and office dog Della in their agility career."

"From a major injury to Della six years ago, right through her rehabilitation and return to competition, seeing them win three silver medals with the England Team at the World Agility Open Championships in Spain in 2013 and Italy in 2014."

Della is now retired and Bridgitte is moving on to concentrate on her new role in Shaftesbury and as Team England manager for the sport.

Bridgitte's departure opens a vacancy for a new assistant secretary.
