SOLDIERS of 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh (1 R WELSH) have taken part in Exercise Volcanic Dragon to refine basic infantry skills prior to a four-week deployment to the Falkland Islands. The training, which took place at Castlemartin Ranges, South Wales, progressed from the Annual Combat Marksmanship Test to Live Fire Tactical Training, with the final mission to conduct a night attack.

The Royal Tank Regiment Battle Group, which includes soldiers from First Fusiliers, is deployed to Canada and are now out on the prairie on Exercise Prairie Storm 1. They are in the second week and on the live firing phase of the three week exercise which tests their battle readiness in preparation for becoming lead armoured battle group later in the year.

Elements of Squadron Headquarters of FALCON Squadron of 22 Engineer Regiment from Perham Down helped set up and open the Lincoln Tank Memorial to Wm Foster & Co .

The memorial commemorates Lincoln as he birthplace of the tank and the opening was supported by members of the Royal Tank Regiment. The Lord Lieutenant, Mayor and Constable hosted members of the Squadron to thank them for their work.
