A NEW head teacher has been appointed at a primary school in Tisbury.

Lisa Portch, a Year 1 and 2 teacher at St John's Primary School, will start her new role there in September.

Lisa succeeds Lee Chandler, who helped the school go from satisfactory to good in their last Ofsted inspection.

Outgoing Lee is leaving the village school after six years for Berrow Primary School, Somerset.

He said: "The best advice I can give Lisa is to enjoy the job, it can be tough at times but it's also the best job in the world."

"Any difficult decision that needs to be made becomes easy when you remember that the children come first."
