ALMOST 100 year 7 and 8 pupils had a great time at a week-long summer school in Tidworth.

The aim of the event, which was held at Wellington Academy, was to support pupils with maths and literacy skills as well as give them an opportunity to try out activities including art and cookery.

And for children students who are going to be starting in September it was a great opportunity for them to get to know staff and make new friends.

Pupils who attend all week will have the opportunity to experience a day out at Longleat on Friday. The summer school week was funded by Wellington Academy.

Sophie Bagshaw, who attended the event, said: "I have had a great experience at summer school, it has helped me a lot and I will now be ahead when I start in year 7. All the teachers are really fun and helped us to get the most out of the week. I would like to thank the staff that have taken the time during their summer to be with us."
