A MOTORIST caught driving while almost three times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the road for two years.
David Shannon, 22, pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates' Court after a breathalyser showed he had 98mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath as he drove his Volkswagen Golf on Butterfield Drive, Amesbury.
The legal limit is 35mcg.
Shannon, of Churchill Avenue, Bulford Village, must carry out 40 hours unpaid work and pay the court £295.
