SCAFFOLDING has been erected around the Guildhall in advance of roof repair work which is due to commence in about six weeks’ time.
A temporary roof will be constructed to protect the building whilst the roof is repaired, with scaffolding on all four sides of the building.
The masonry repairs will also include improvements to the main entrance area. The entire project is expected to take 39 weeks.
The Guildhall and all of its function rooms, as well as the offices for Salisbury City Council and the Information Centre will remain open to visitors and continue to operate as usual during the project period.
The building is home of Salisbury City Council and is Grade II listed.
