A CODFORD volunteer has been recognised by Action on Hearing Loss for his dedication to helping others.

Peter Brougham was presented with the charity's People's Champion Award at the Wilton Hear to Help service as part of its Volunteers Week celebrations.

The award was in recognition of his tireless commitment helping at the Wiltshire Hear to Help hearing aid maintenance service supporting local people with NHS hearing aids across the county.

Peter said: “I’ve been a volunteer with Action on Hearing Loss for five years and I’m extremely honoured to have received a volunteering award for helping the residents of Wiltshire who have hearing problems. I am part of a team of volunteers in this area and without them all helping people in Wiltshire who have hearing problems, this service would not happen; they all deserve recognition.

"Volunteering for Action on Hearing Loss is very rewarding as you soon realise that one small adjustment to a hearing aid can make a huge difference to a person’s hearing and so therefore their quality of life. I hope this will inspire others to volunteer for our team.”

The Salisbury Hear to Help team consists of over 30 tireless volunteers and all their efforts will be recognised at a tea party to be held in August by the charity.
