A MOTHER was attacked in the street in front of her children on Saturday night.

The woman said another woman in a car grabbed her by the hair before the driver drove off, throwing her to the pavement.

She was left with cuts and bruises after the attack on the corner of Milford Hill and Gigant Street in Salisbury.

She posted photographs of her injuries on Facebook, asking people to share her post and appealing for witnesses to contact the police.

The woman said she had been walking home from a friend's house with her children at around midnight when the boys, "just being kids", knocked on the window of a parked car with two people inside.

She said the car then pulled up next to her and the driver started shouting.

"Next thing I knew there was a massive altercation and the girl in the passenger seat grabbed my hair and the driver drove off, whilst holding my hair," she said.

"It threw me into the pavement, and could've killed me."

The small, silver car was parked on Milford Hill, and sped off in the direction of The Chapel.

A police spokesman said: "The victim, a woman from Salisbury was walking in the area of Gigant Street with her children when she was verbally abused by a man in a small silver car and assaulted by a woman who was a passenger.

"The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and knee.

"There were a total of four people believed to be in the vehicle at the time and the suspect is described as white with blonde hair. The man is described as blonde and of chubby build."
