THE mother of a military policewoman who killed herself after being bullied has welcomed a campaign aimed at tackling harassment in the British Army.

Cpl Anne-Marie Ellement, from Bournemouth, took her own life in 2011 at Bulford Barracks after being bullied for two years. She also accused two colleagues of rape.

Former soldiers Jeremy Jones and Thomas Fulton, who both denied rape, were later cleared at court martial.

However, after the hearing the judge told the pair their behaviour had been "disgraceful."

Now Cpl Ellement's mother, Alexandra Barritt, wants her daughter to feature in the army's poster campaign.

The army has said it will consider this move when more posters are produced.

Her mum said: "I don't want to feel like she's died in vain and she's wasted her life."

Cpl Ellement, 30, died two years after alleging she had been raped while stationed in Sennelager, Germany.

A second inquest into her death found bullying was a factor in her suicide.

The army has produced a series of posters featuring images of sexual assault, intimidation and bullying among soldiers.
