A LARGE grant has been awarded to a city centre charity.
Salisbury Child Contact Centre (SCCC) applied to the Local Youth Network Management Group for a grant and was awarded £4,000 at a recent Salisbury Area Board meeting.
The money will help with the running costs of the project, which provides a safe, neutral and comfortable place for children to meet with their non–resident parent or other family members.
SCCC coordinator Amber Skyring said: "The organisation receives no core funding from any statutory provider and has, to date, been run entirely on grants and donations. Therefore, we are thrilled to have just received a grant for £4k."
The contact centre, which runs on Saturdays at St Osmund's School, also relies heavily on volunteers.
They are currently looking for more people to join.
