TWO Salisbury Plain primary schools had a cracking day of Easter fun to mark the end of term.

Pupils at Bulford St Leonard’s Primary School created colourful Easter baskets for the occasion.

And Durrington All Saints Infant School had a visit from the Easter Bunny and took part in a Easter Bonnet parade.

The reception and nursery children at Bulford paraded their creations in the school hall and were each rewarded with a Cadbury’s Crème Egg. The children had to make sure their baskets were designed to carry an egg.

Sarah Ward, the principal at Bulford St Leonard’s Primary School, said: “There are some fabulous creations – from the Death Star – with Darth Vader in situ, Gotham City and an almost life size pelican – it’s been an amazing effort."

Lindsay West, the principal at Durrington All Saints, added: “This is a lovely way to engage parents at the end of a busy term, get them all in.

“It let’s us see how creative the parents are, so we can see their talent – we get nearly 100 per cent participation which is brilliant. It’s just a really happy event at the end of term.”

The Durrington academy school had a panel of judges from the local community including PCSO Will Todd, Councillor Graham Wright and local leisure centre manager Jonathan Hargreave

Both schools are part of Salisbury Plain Academies, a multi-academy trust.
