ST MICHAEL's Primary School pupils in Figheldean made a special Easter delivery to the food bank.

Pupils George Austin, Isabelle Thompson and Morgann Farnell, with the school Principal Nicky Phillips, delivered the Easter eggs to the Trussell Trust food bank in Salisbury.

The money was raised during an Easter tea, which was set up by the School Council. Children and parents from the school made cakes for the occasion.

The £101 raised was then used to buy as many chocolate eggs as possible from Tesco in Amesbury. The store also donated five more Easter eggs.

“Lucy Duffy from the Trussell Trust was delighted and asked the children if they knew what would happen to the eggs,” said Principal, Nicky Phillips.

“She showed us round the food bank and explained how it is all sorted and stored for people who haven't the money to buy food.

“Although this was a great deed and an enjoyable morning, I think the children couldn't believe that so much chocolate had passed through their hands and not reached their mouths."
