AN Amesbury veterinary practice that has only been open eight months has scooped a top award.

Vets4Pets in Sandell Place was awarded the New Practice of the Year award at the Vets4Pets Partners Conference.

The Amesbury practice, which opened last September, was crowned the winners out of 50 other practices across the country.

And the award is for practices that have been running for less than a year who have demonstrated great team work, engagement with the local community and excellent client service.

Joint practice owner Tom Roffe-Silvester said: "This award really shows how much hard work the team here has put in over the past eight months. My wife Sonia and I set out with a vision of how we wanted to create our practice, with excellent patient and client care at the forefront, as well as being a great place to work.

"The team have really bonded and we now have some true friends amongst what has become a loyal client base - there are the regulars and the favourites of course but we truly feel part of the community as a whole - and this award is for everyone. Thank you."

The practice says that since opening last year the development of the practice has exceeded expectations and the team have been able to build strong links with the local community.

Receptionist Amber Bell added: "I feel extremely honoured to be part of the Vets4Pets Amesbury team and this award really does go to show what an amazing practice it is and what an excellent team we have here. From the reception side I can see the care and dedication that is given to the pets and owners from our excellent vets Tom and Sonia, as well as our lovely nurses Glenda and Jo. The award was the icing on the cake to the brilliant eight months we have been open so far."
