FAMILY and friends of a woman who died after being hit on the head are taking part in a skydive in her memory.

Georgie Le'Fjord (Cleary) died aged 23 in June 2015, when a small rock fell from a cliff and hit her on the head at Llantwit Major in Wales.

Alice Birch, Georgie's sister, said the tandem skydive was taking place to mark two years since Georgie's death and celebrate what would have been her 26th birthday at the end of the month.

Alice will be jumping with her husband, Tom, Georgie's younger sister Millie Cleary, Georgie's boyfriend Paul Biggs, her cousin Cat’s husband, Jonathon Starr and Dan Jenkins, a family friend.

They will be raising money for Winston's Wish, a childhood bereavement charity.

Georgie's mum, Jackie Cleary said: "Georgie and her sisters' dad, John Cleary, took his own life through suicide, which is why we wish to support Winston's Wish.

"They offered us invaluable support after his death in 2005 and were there for us again ten years later when Georgie tragically died whilst picnicking on the beach.’’

Alice said: "John and Georgie both left a lot of broken hearts when they left. I miss my baby sister more than I can put into words, really.

"I hope we can make a difference to other children who are affected by loss by raising this money for such a deserving charity.

"As it stands today, with gift aid we have raised over £1000."

The skydive will take place on July 1 at GoSkydive in Old Sarum and spectators are welcome.
