VISITORS were taken back in time at the Festival of Archaeology at Salisbury Museum.

The two-day event took place over the weekend and featured living history exhibits, a live dig with Dr Phil Harding and more.

There were also talks held across the weekend from speakers including

journalist Kate Adie and Dr Alex Langlands.

A spokesman for the museum said: "We had an amazing weekend of heritage, archaeology and living history at the museum.

"Despite some biblical downpours, we welcomed 1,300 visitors to the museum over the course of the weekend."

Visitors could also take part in some hands-on activities and crafts.
