SALISBURY'S best and worst GP practices have been revealed in new figures.

Practices covered by NHS Wiltshire CCG were rated using figures from the GP Patient Survey (GPPS) 2017.

This year, 90 per cent of people said their overall experience of using a Wiltshire GP surgery was very good or fairly good (higher than the national average of 85 per cent), and only three per cent thought their experience had been very poor or fairly poor, compared to 5 per cent nationally.

In Wiltshire, 12,262 copies of the GPPS were sent out and 6,743 were returned completed.

Hindon Surgery was rated the joint-highest for overall experience in Salisbury for the second year running, and second highest for Wiltshire as a whole, with 99 per cent of respondents saying they had a good experience.

The Orchard Partnership, covering Wilton, Fovant, Shrewton and Codford also received a score of 99 per cent overall.

In every category Wiltshire surgeries were rated higher than the national average.

When asked if it was easy to get through to someone on the phone, 75 per cent of people in Wiltshire said it was compared to 68 per cent nationally.

Harcourt Medical Centre had the lowest rating, with 61 per cent of patients saying they could easily reach someone, and Hindon Surgery was highest with 99 per cent.

90 per cent of Wiltshire patients said receptionists were helpful (nationally 87 per cent did).

Again, Hindon Surgery had the best rating with 100 per cent saying receptionists were helpful, and Barcroft was lowest with 80 per cent.

And 98 per cent said they had confidence and trust in the GP they last saw, compared to 95 per cent nationally.
