THE Christmas Market returns to Salisbury for its sixth consecutive year next week.

More than 70 German-style wooden chalets will open on the market square on Thursday, November 23, and will run until December 22.

Exhibitors will be selling a range of items, including jewellery, handmade furniture, liqueurs and unique and traditional gift ideas.

The market opens at the same time as late night shopping begins, and will be open until 9pm with street entertainment and live music.

A wide range of activities and events will take place at the market over the festive season, including a reindeer visit on Sunday, December 17.

And on December 16, Nutcrackers will take over the city in a Nutcracker trail and there will also be free children’s workshops and face painting during December.

Salisbury Business Improvement District and Salisbury Live have worked together to bring Salisbury Christmas Market Live to the market.

The food and drink area will be open until 8.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and will be filled with great live music.

There will be a range of hot food on offer, including Bratwurst sausages, pulled pork, gourmet burgers, Greek cuisine, churros, doughnuts and toasted sandwiches made with a variety of international cheese and local ham.
