A GROUP of friends pedalled their way to pounds as they each rode 100km in a bid to beat cancer.

Hannah Bell, Pam Clover, Shosh Hobbs and Sue Wharmby jumped on their static bikes outside Chalke Valley Stores on April 3.

Hannah said: “We have all be affected by cancer and this seemed like quite a big challenge.”

Cheered on by friends, family and shop staff the quartet cycled for five hours and raised more than £1,200.

“We had such great support from everyone, it was so uplifting,” Hannah added.

The cycle prepared the women for their charity ride through London in May, and will raise more money for Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Trust.
