SOUTH Wilts Expo is taking place in Salisbury today, and there’s a great line-up for anyone who is interested in making business work.

The South Wilts Business Expo is a place where local businesses can discover, learn and network together.

It takes place today at the Guildhall, starting at 10am.

Entrepreneurs can learn about referrals and digital strategy at a series of breakfast talks.

And the Department for International Trade’s mobile export hub will make a stop in the city on its UK tour.

There will be workshops on how to sell overseas, and the chance to meet an international trade adviser for one-to-one advice.

There will also be a chance to learn how to win an award with a presentation being given by the heads of media partners for the event – Spire

FM and the Salisbury Journal.

The running order of events is as follows.

  • 7.30am – Breakfast for Exhibitors

  • 10am – Expo doors open. Up to 50 trade stands across two rooms within the Guildhall

Seminars in the Old Oak Court Room:

  • 10.30am – Robert Snook, MG Cannon, The Art of being an Entrepreneur Robert has extensive experience in senior management, director and business owner roles in award-winning blue chip corporate and private companies.

  • 11.30am – Jordan Wylie, award-winning author of Citadel - The True Story of One Man’s War Against the Pirates of Somalia Jordan was an intelligence and armoured reconnaissance specialist in the British armed forces for 10 years, serving in Iraq and Northern Ireland. In 2017, he was highly commended as an unsung hero of the shipping industry for raising awareness of emerging cyber security threats to the marine and offshore sectors.

  • 12.30pm – Mark Jackson, Blue Bee Solutions, What is digital marketing and what can you do to improve yours today? With over a decade in digital marketing and business development, Mark is a veteran in helping clients acquire and retain more customers.

  • 1.30pm – Ceri Hurford-Jones and Bill Browne, How to Win an Award Ceri, managing director of Spire FM, and Bill, publisher of the Salisbury Journal, are both directors with the Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce. Bill said: “Through our business pages and the news pages of the Journal, we have been a constant supporter of local commerce at all levels. “Our record stands for itself and our Supercharge You initiative has seen us support businesses in a very real and hands on way.

  • 2.30pm – Nikki Spicer, Building your Business Director of Vita Skin Spa since 2005, Nikki now runs a team of 15. She will share how she grew her business.

  • 3.30pm – Alex Taylor, Start-Up Business Guidance Director of GirlsLoveFit and KidzLoveFit, Alex has been running businesses within Salisbury and working her way up within the fitness industry for over 15 years.

  • 1pm and 3pm – Focused Networking (Grand Jury Room): Run by business students from Wiltshire College, the networking events will be evaluated and will count towards their A-levels.

  • 4pm – Expo closes

  • 4.30pm – Young Chamber April Networking evening in Grand Jury room

  • 6.30pm – close

There will be several local food and drink exhibitors in The Guildhall Square for the duration of the day.
