IN 2017 the National Federation of Women’s Institutes voted to try to alleviate loneliness. Redlynch and District WI decided to compile a booklet listing the many organisations in their villages with contact details etc. so that people could know what there was to join and make new friends.
The booklet is entitled “What’s on in Redlynch – and a bit beyond”, and covers activities for those with babies through to the elderly. It has been produced in an attractive format which it is hoped recipients will keep for future reference. Although it will not be physically updated it has been put on the village website, Redlynch online at redlynch.org.uk and changes can be made there.
It has been distributed to about 1,150 homes in the villages. To save duplication of effort it was distributed along with Christian Aid envelopes so that the WI helped the local churches and they helped the WI to deliver their booklet.
