THERE is plenty to celebrate in Durrington and the community held a show off day to do just that.
The village hall was full of groups featuring their work in the community in the 6th Durrington Showcase and this year the town council also had a special reason to celebrate.
The council has become the first in south Wiltshire to attain quality status and MP Claire Perry was there to present the award.
She said: “I am always pleased to come to Durrington as the community and council is a wonderful example of how people can all pull together.”
The area’s Speedwatch team also got an award from Wiltshire Police for its work in making Durrington’s roads a safer place to be.
