Downton Co-op to get new look

THE Co-op store in Downton is set to get a new look.

The Co-operative is investing £165,000 into refitting the shop, in The Borough, and it will close next Thursday for work to be carried out, reopening a week later.

Additional rangers are to be brought in; including fresh meat and chilled products, and four tills will replace the checkouts on the kiosk. Manager Mark Theis said: “We operate in the heart of the community and by doing so provide an ideal location for people to shop locally. It is important that we continue to meet people’s needs and provide a welcoming environment in which to shop.

“Upgrading the store will freshen up the shopping experience and improve the vitality of the area, so I look forward to welcoming customers into the new-look store.”

"Additional rangers are to be brought in" ... presumably nothing to do with football then?

Maybe they could get the staff to smile and be more polite whilst they are at it.
