New cheerleading groups

CHEERLEADING club Phoenix Stars has launched two new clubs, Superstars in Salisbury and Shooting Stars in Alderbury.

Cheerleading, which can be a competitive sport, is based around routines and incorporates cardio workouts, as well as improving co-ordination and encouraging team spirit.

Head coach Natasha Belfield, said: “I am so excited about bringing a cheer club to Salisbury. I would encourage both girls and boys to try cheerleading, not just for the dances and stunts but for the team spirit and the desire to win at competitions.”

Phoenix Shooting Stars for school years 2 to 6 is held at Alderbury and West Grimstead Primary School at 4.30pm on Thursdays. Superstars which is for school years 7 and upwards and is held at Wyvern College gym from 4pm on Wednesdays.
