THE director of a dog boarding company in Damerham will be taking part in the Great South Run dressed as a St Bernard to raise money for Guide Dogs.
Jim Suswain, of Wagging Tails, will be competing in the ten-mile annual race, dressed as his company’s mascot, Bernie.
It will be the first time Mr Suswain has run in costume and he hopes the weather will not leave him panting.
He said: “If it is too hot the suit is absolutely boiling, while rain makes it really heavy. Dry and overcast would be ideal.” Bernie’s run is part of Mr Suswain’s pledge to run 100 miles during 2012 to raise funds for Guide Dogs - a challenge which has seen him complete three half marathons, three ten-mile runs and a triathlon this year.
