VOLUNTEER therapists are needed to help launch a service to offer complementary therapy to patients at Salisbury Hospice.
Lyn Boden from Salisbury Hospice is coordinating the new service to help relieve stress and anxiety, and manage symptoms of pain control.
She is looking to recruit complementary therapists qualified in aromatherapy, massage, reflexology or Indian head massage, who can offer a minimum of four hours of their time on a fortnightly basis.
Therapists who are able to offer more regular time can receive training and support to develop their skills and knowledge in a hospice setting. The treatments will be available to day centre patients at the hospice, to inpatients on the ward and eventually to outpatients.
Ms Boden said: “We hope to reach as many patients as possible and be able to offer a range of suitable treatments.” For more information, contact Ms Boden on 01722 425113.
