THIS year's Carnival Queen will head Ringwood's most prestigious social event.
Nicola Barratt has been chosen as Queen for 2008, with her two attendants Heather Good and Stephanie Dearden.
The title was closely fought at the Ringwood
School Year 11 Ball, with more than 25 girls
competing for the crown.
The three girls will be crowned at The Ringwood
Town Festival later this month.
The queen and her attendants will sit on the
stunning floral carriage pulled by the magnificent
Sampson's horses on carnival day, which is
Saturday, September 20.
It is hoped that thousands of pounds will be
raised this year, following last year's success, when £6,400 was raised for good causes.
A host of charities benefited, including Avon
Valley Concerts, Bisterne Village Hall, Busy Bees
Pre-School and Humpty Dumpty Pre-School.
