Funds needed for Burma
THE Rotary Club of Amesbury is raising funds to send Shelter and Aqua Boxes to the stricken areas of Burma.
Shelter Box have four members on the ground in Burma to monitor their distribution.
Two hundred boxes are arriving in Burma this week and another 800 are on their way. Aqua boxes are being positioned close to Burma with the help of Canadian and Singaporean Rotary Clubs for onward movement to Burma as soon as the situation permits.
Shelter boxes provide a ten person frame tent and equipment designed to enable a family of 10 to survive for at least six months.
Aqua boxes provide a filter and purification tablets enough to produce 1100 ltrs of water, which is enough for a family of four to survive for about four months. This box also contains essential items for basic living needs.
Contributions are urgently required and can be sent payable to The Rotary Club of Amesbury at 98 London Road Amesbury, SP4 7 DY.
