FIVE occupants of a house on Bemerton Heath had a lucky escape when a chip pan fire broke out at their home at 3.39am this morning.
One man suffered smoke inhalation and another burnt his foot as he tried to remove the pan from the property on Pinewood Way.
The residents, who were alerted to the flames by a smoke detector, managed to take the pan outside preventing further damage to the property.
Firecrews from Salisbury attended.
