I SEE the powers that be have apparently scrapped plans for the expensive and impractical Stonehenge tunnel, which would not be either visitor or resident friendly.

IN response to David Merritt's letter in your paper about speeding motorists on the A338, I would like to make the following points: Villagers from across the Bourne Valley came together for a public meeting on September 22 2007, in Winterbourne Earls. Views were aired concerning HGVs that use the A338 and the need for more effective traffic calming and enforcement of speed limits on that road.
