Taking advantage of a community's spirit
THE anonymous person who wrote the
letter headlined "Action of the so-called needy beggars belief" should have dialled 999 after being relieved of money.
I am in no doubt the so-called beggar was breaking the law.
Was the victim under the impression that the police have far more important things to do than pursue crooks? That's what we pay the police to do, although you do
wonder sometimes.
Why can't citizens accept that they too have a responsibility to involve the police?
I have twice informed the police about so-called charity company collectors
operating scams picking up bags not put out for them or purporting to be genuinely raising money for victims of Chernobyl.
I was told by our Heart Foundation
collection driver that our bag we left out for him had been stolen by these thieves who went round before him collecting bags put out for the genuine charity.
I shall not be putting out any more and neighbours who experienced the same scam won't either. Can anyone explain why we in Britain on the one hand remember those who fought and died defending us against tyranny and dictatorship, yet are too
weak-willed and timid to stand up and demand our basic rights and freedoms that are constantly being eroded away by these dregs and parasites that exploit our
community.
I personally believe the British are mostly just too apathetic to care about anything so we get what we deserve.
