Teddy bears' picnic
 |
| Children and bears enjoy their day at Moors Valley Country Park |
IF you went down to the woods at Moors Valley Country Park you would have been in for a huge surprise as hundreds of teddy bears were enjoying a picnic in the park.
Tiny tots from the reception years at St Mary's First School in West Moors, Three Legged Cross First School, St Ives First School and Oakhurst First School clutched their bears for the second cluster schools event.
And no-one was allowed on the coach if they didn't have their bear.
Assistant head at St Ives First School Sarah Moore said the Teddy Bears picnic was "loved" by the children, teachers and parents who got involved.
"The event started last year as some of the reception teachers felt we should do something involve reception teachers and children from the four cluster schools", she said.
"The children loved it and we were so lucky with the weather as we were outdoors for the whole day."
Miss Moore added: "We walked some of the play trail, the park and we all had a ride on the train - with our bears of course."
