| Mayor of Ringwood Brian Terry unveils one of the new signs |
VISITORS to Ringwood should have no difficulty
finding their way around town now thanks to five
sturdy maps placed next to pay points in the main
car park.
The maps, which give information about the
charter market set up in 1226, the history behind
the town's name and list annual events and visitor
attractions, are framed in hardwood and
mounted on reclaimed railway sleepers.
Illustrations of the town are by local artist
Geoff Bartlett and design is by Walking Distance,
alias Martin Smith and Jo Cooper.
Funding of £2,000 cost was shared between the
town and district councils
