10:10am Wednesday 31st October 2012 in New Forest News By Journal Reporter
ROTARIANS from Fordingbridge hosted a social evening to thank all their sponsors, supporters and the town council – in particular mayor Malcolm Connolly – for their help in making the Fordingbridge Summer Festival such a great success.
Festival chairman John Oram, who has taken over from Stan Broomfield, outlined the community events, youth work, local and international charities Rotary is able to support with the funds raised.
He said: “After just four years the festival has made great strides forward in promoting the town of Fordingbridge and helping to bring the community together.
“It is also very gratifying to receive all the promises of support for the 2013 festival being arranged for July 20.”
President Chris Benton presented cheques to local clubs.
Past president Trevor Halski presented Malcolm Adams with a Paul Harris Fellowship award. Mr Adams has been a town councillor for more than 45 years, chaired many committees, including finance and policy, and championed a long list of local projects.
