A VERWOOD mother of two has been named the best leader in the south west at a care awards night.

Jacqui Church, 36, won the Frontline Leader Award at the Great South West Care Awards event in Bristol hosted by comedy prankster Dom Joly.

Mrs Church, pictured, who oversees supported living services for 40 people with learning disabilities and associated conditions, collected an inscribed glass plaque from the Trigger Happy TV star – who donned a “onesy” for the occasion for Children In Need – and Steve Mills from the UK Home Care Association.

Mrs Church, who is team leader for five supported living units and 15 to 20 home care service users in Hampshire and Dorset, will now go forward to the finals of the event in 2013.

She said: “I have always been fiercely supportive of individuals’ rights and need to live as independently as they can; I strive to promote this vision within my team.”
