FOREST Forge Theatre Company is touring with its new production, the Boy at the Edge of the Room, from March 7- April 20.
The gothic-style fairytale for adults is an adaptation of a Victorian story, Wooden Tony written by Lucy Clifford, and explores the world of Tony, who is on the autistic spectrum and struggles to fit in and find a place in the world.
The play has been informed by and developed with young people on the autistic spectrum and their parents, with advice from Hampshire Autistic Society.
An audio and visual exhibition offering the opportunity to experience an artistic expression of what it feels like to be autistic in society today will accompany the production, which coincides with World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.
Performances are being held at Greyfriars Community Centre on March 9, Cranborne Village Hall on April 19 and Ibsley Village Hall on April 20. For tickets go to forestforge.co.uk.
