Moors Valley turns 25

MOORS Valley Country Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a huge programme of events and activities.

The park’s anniversary celebrations kick off with ‘25-4-25’, a series of 25 special wildlife events.

The events, including wildlife walks, illustrated talks, pond dipping and photography walks, reflect Moors Valley’s ability to balance the needs of its visitors with those of its indigenous wildlife.

Countryside interpretation ranger Katie Davies said: “We are excited to be celebrating 25 years with 25 wildlife events.

“These will be opportunities for our visitors to experience the wonderful diversity of wildlife that exists in the park.

“We are one of the best sites in the UK for dragonflies and damselflies and have recently reintroduced water voles. There’s always lots to see and do here and these 25 events are a great addition to our existing programme.”

The 25 wildlife events kick-off on March 16 with the Art and Skills of Wildlife Photography, a relaxed and informative talk by professional wildlife and landscape photographer Mike Read.
