YOUNGSTERS explored India to produce an impressive array of artwork, food and a video of dance and music.

Children at Hyde Primary School cooked naan bread, wrote poetry and stories about India, produced Powerpoint presentations, plotted journeys on maps and made their own Mehndi designs and Rangoli patterns.

They also composed and played music based on the River Ganges and invented their own Indian stick dances.

The project was inspired by their school’s link with the USR Indu Inter College and the Janet Sheed Roberts School and Home for Disabled Children, which was set up by Hyde resident John Hunt from the Lotus Flower Trust.

Yesterday pupils staged a grand exhibition of film, CD and work, all displayed throughout the school for visitors.
