A HUGELY successful street dance school is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Ringwood.

Shake has seen many of its dancers performing in the|country’s most prestigious|arenas, including Wembley, the O2 and the Rock Assembly.

The school, led by principal Rachel King, attracts youngsters from miles around due to its impressive record.

To celebrate a decade of dance Shake is hosting a day dedicated to dance for the town’s youngsters on August 6.

A team of teachers will be holding dance classes at Poulner Junior School for children aged between six and ten and 11-15 throughout the day. And, from 10am until 3pm, youngsters will have the chance to try street dance styles as well as enjoy some street dance performances.

Ms King said: “We are very excited to be celebrating our tenth anniversary and want to get the whole community involved. This day of dance is particularly aimed at anyone who has always wanted to try street dance but didn’t know where to start.

“We have designed the day to be lots of fun so we are encouraging everyone and anyone to come along and have a go.”

In October, Shake’s over-16 group will represent England in the World Street Dance Champ-ionships in Denmark, after securing a top three place at the final.

They will be joined by Shake’s youngest group Too Much, who will be trying to bring home gold in the under-12 category.

And just last year top street dancer 21-year-old Ryan Nembhard joined Shake after Rachel was invited to work with Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity.

Theo, who even got to perform in the official Michael Jackson tribute concert and met the late star’s family, first tasted stardom aged just six, when he moonwalked his way into a place on Sky1’s Got to Dance.
