GRIEVING family and friends have paid tribute to their “ray of sunshine” after the former Ringwood School pupil died in a crash at Bransgore at the weekend.
Ceejay Broadhead was driving a Ford Focus when he crashed into a phone mast at Burley Road at 12.36am on Sunday, metres from the village hall.
The cause of the accident has not yet been established.
A joint message from the 19-year-old’s family in Southbourne, including his five siblings, said: “Ceejay was our world and we are devastated and lost that he has been snatched from us so young.
“He was more than just a brother, a son, uncle and grandson to us, his family.
“He was a ray of sunshine in everyone’s lives.
“He always lived life to the full and we will never stop grieving.
“We will miss you forever, Ceejay.”
School friend Katie Bomphrey was among many people leaving flowers at the scene of the accident.
Miss Bomphrey, 19, said: “He was very popular and was always there for you.
“He was the life and soul of the party.
“It’s such a great loss and everyone is going to miss him so much.”
Another friend, Harriet Symms, 17, added: “I always remember being on the school bus with him.”
Among the messages at the scene was one which described Mr Broadhead as “the sweetest” friend, who “made us smile every time you walked through the door”.
It is believed the young man was travelling in the direction of Winkton when the accident happened.
A Hampshire Police spokesman said he lost control “for reasons yet to be established” and no other car is believed to have been involved.
The road was closed afterwards to allow collision investigators to work.
