Jazz at Fordingbridge Museum
4:00pm Friday 6th September 2013 in New Forest News
FANS of the popular jazz group the Alley Catz, which disbanded recently, can hear some members of the group in a new line up called JazzInc, which is playing for the Friends of Fordingbridge Museum.
The Friends have hired the new group to play at a fundraiser on September 18.
Jazz enthusiast Katherine Puttick, who is organising the event, said: “JazzInc are destined to be as popular as The Alley Catz.
“Their singer Cheryl Macey has a voice that is guaranteed to send a shiver up the spine of the audience and the group play a range of music that will be certain to please all jazz tastes.
“Fund raising events like this are essential to keeping the museum going so we always put on something that we know will be popular.”
The event will be held at St Mary’s Church Hall at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 (£10 for Friends) and are on sale at the museum, from Fordingbridge Book Shop or on the door.
The price includes a ploughman’s supper, cake and hot drinks. The audience is invited to bring their own wine and glasses.
