AFTER a highly successful year supporting New Forest Nightstop, Forest Fundraisers has chosen another Community First New Forest service to support for 2014.

Forest Fundraisers was set up at the start of 2013 to raise funds for small local charities or organisations in the New Forest, choosing a different charity each year.

They were previously a fundraising branch of a large national charity and had been running successfully for many years, but felt that the money raised would make a more significant difference to smaller charities and wanted to support their local community.

The committee arranged a host of events in 2013 including a bridge day, spring fair and a New Forest guided walk with produce and cake sale, raising £4,200.

Co-chairman Sally Trousdell said: “We have been delighted to support New Forest Nightstop in the amazing work they do to help vulnerable, homeless youngsters.

“We are now delighted to fundraise for New Forest Young Carers, to help them support young people who are caring for family members: giving them both respite and hope for their own future.”

Young Carers Coordinator Marie Shotbolt added: “This is amazing news.I have seen how great the relationship between Forest Fundraisers and Nightstop has been, and am really looking forward to working with them.

“The more young carers we identify, the more time out and fun we need to provide, so we rely on donations and support like this to help us.”
