TEENAGERS at The Burgate School in Fordingbridge celebrated record breaking results at their GCSE prizegiving evening last week.
The students achieved a new school record for GCSE results with 79 per cent of the students achieving five or more A*-C grades, including English and maths.
This is a 15 per cent improvement on the results from the previous three years and ensures Burgate’s place at the top of the table as the best performing comprehensive school in the New Forest, Salisbury and Southampton.
The special awards were presented by Paralympian Aaron Phipps.
Among those receiving the highest honours were Sophie Cutler for her eight A* grades, Matthew Parry for the Headteacher’s Award for Progress and Benjamin Temblett for his service to the school community.
